  Oil-ternative® Concrete Form Release is sustainably manufactured from bio-based oils recycled from Restaurants and Commercial Kitchens.

• How is your release agent different from petroleum-based products?
  Unlike conventional petroleum-based form oils, Oil-ternative® form release is a biodegradable, non-toxic, low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) product made from recycled bio=based food oils. not designated as a hazardous product and requires no hazardous placard for transportation. It is It is designed to reduce environmental impact while still delivering clean form release and reliable performance.

• Is Oil-ternative® truly biodegradable?
  Yes. Oil-ternative® is formulated to be biodegradable and safer to handle compared to many traditional petroleum-based Concrete Form Release. It is designed with worker safety and environmental responsibility in mind. 

• What are the active ingredients in your release agent?
  The product contains proprietary blends of recycled plant-based oils and performance-enhancing additives that improve release performance, surface finish, and application efficiency. 

• Does your product meet VOC regulations in British Columbia?
  Yes. Oil-ternative® is formulated to comply with applicable VOC requirements in British Columbia for concrete form release applications.

• What types of forms can Oil-ternative® be used on?
  Oil-ternative® can be used on a wide range of concrete forming systems, including wall forms, tilt-up panels, precast forms, and cast-in-place applications. 

• What types of form materials is it compatible with?? 
  Oil-ternative® Release Agent is compatible with a wide range of common form materials, including steel, aluminum, and plywood, and is suitable for most standard construction forming systems. 

• How do you apply Oil-ternative® Release Agent?
  The product can be applied using a sprayer, roller, brush, or cloth. A thin and even coating is recommended for best results. 

• What coverage rate can I expect per liter/gallon?
  Coverage varies depending on form material and application method, but typical coverage ranges from approximately 491–785 ft² per gallon under normal conditions. 

• Do I need to dilute the product before use?
  No. Oil-ternative® is supplied ready-to-use and does not require dilution. 

• How long does it take to dry after application?
  Under normal conditions, the product forms a thin coating within minutes. Drying time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, and application thickness. 

• Can it be applied in cold or hot weather conditions?
  Yes. Oil-ternative® is designed for year-round use and performs in a range of weather conditions. Proper storage and application practices are recommended during extreme temperatures.
